Getting paid for taking part in survey's; SCAM

It's true you can in fact get rewarded for taking part in surveys, some of them supply you with vouchers and some may even pay you cash. The ones you want to aviod are those that ask you to pay a membership fee.

Some of the sites are Phishing for information others will just supply you with freely available information you can easily find on the web yourself, but charging you for the privilege through membership.

The following advise will show you what to look for when searching for a legitimate paid for survey site and what to avoid. So you can reap the rewards.

Identifying legitimate survey sites

1. They pay you / you don't pay them

"It only costs £45 for a membership to our survey site!" No, do not ever pay for this. many unsuspecting users have been caught out and had money extorted from them hoping that they will make hundreds of pounds sitting at home clicking a mouse. A legitimate survey site will never make you pay a single penny to be a member and take surveys.

2. Users Know it All

Read reviews of the sites offering the surveys. Don't read the reports directly on the site you are considering as these could be bate, falsified reviews to trick your confidence. A good way to spot fake testimonials is to look at the publishing date, if they are all within a small period of time then they are probably bogus. www.surveypolice.com is an independent user based review system for survey sites, check there reports first.

3. Ask the right questions

Asking the following questions will help you to evaluate potential survey sites to join:

  • Do I Have To Pay To Sign Up? (Bad Site!)
  • Check there contact information: phone them (they wont mind) and check they exists and answer the phone with their business name.
  • Look for online safety and security(McAfee,Verisign,BBB,TrustE) this is a good sign of legitimacy because they safeguard your account information inpedendantly.
  • Do they ask for credit card details or sensitive personal information on registartion (Bad site?)
  • are they hiding information such as survey sources? (Bad site)
