The Lottery Scam

This is a very simple scam that uses to routes to scam you.

The First system

The fictitious lottery: as the name would suggest the problem is that despite the

apparent list of previous high winners and testimonials the lottery does not exist. If you are in doubt always do a search for the name of the lottery to check it's credentials from independent reports on the web. If you cannot find any reports or if they appear to be directly linked to avoid these sites not only will you be giving away your money for no return but you will no doubt also have to give them personal information that can lead to identity theft.

The Email system

A similarly fictitious lottery scam can be ran through email. You receive an unsolicited email informing you that you have won some money usually in a foreign country, this should make you immediately suspicious. they will endeavour to persuade you to cover a transferral fee to send the finances. Not only will they take the transferral fee money but they will also acquire your bank details and address more than enough information for identity fraud.
